Frontline Support

April 16, 2020

Efforts to support the community, frontline workers and vulnerable groups has been much of our work since we closed our restaurant doors. Initially this was ensuring we made best use of the leftover food in each of our restaurants and the teams worked their last shifts cooking off burgers and chips for nearby hospital teams, local charities and foodbanks.

Our central Honest kitchen was also in healthy stock, so a small army of volunteers from across our business, led by Tom our co-founder and James our Exec Chef, headed down to create, from scratch, around 8,000 Honest ready meals using all our remaining fresh ingredients that would have otherwise been wasted. Wild garlic pesto lasagne, Honest beef cottage pie and Bolognese were homemade, packed, labelled up and handed over to the brilliant City Harvest who are a London based charity that distribute food to those in greatest need.

We’re working now on other fundraising initiatives to ensure we can keep on generating support for our frontline workers and those more vulnerable in our society. Keep an eye out here in our news section and on our socials.
