It’s been 10 years and we’d like to think we’re now pretty good at burgers and chips. It’s been a bit of a blur, a lot of hard work, but that’s been half the fun. Good enough just isn’t good enough here. We don’t mean to brag but we’re all about top quality beef, the best potatoes and good times. Don’t just take our word for it though, we’ll let our food and people do the talking. After all, we’re Just Being Honest…
Just being honest
A great burger starts with great beef – our beef comes from small farms in Gloucestershire. Our burgers are made from chuck and rib cap (the bit that’s skimmed off a rib eye steak). It’s more expensive, but it makes our burgers juicier, with a ‘good bite’. It means you can actually taste the beef – really great beef – not just meat. And that’s exactly how it should be.
Just great burgers. Made by us.
We could just use frozen chips, but that wouldn’t be Honest. Our chips are always fresh, and they come with every burger as standard – because who’s having a burger without chips. It’s been that way since our first restaurant in Brixton opened its doors, simply because we wanted everyone to try our homemade rosemary salted chips.
Just great chips. Made by us.
We haven’t always got things right. The early days were hard work, but one-day food critic Jay Rayner described our chips as “edible crystal meth”. Since then people keep telling us our burgers are some of the best they’ve ever tasted.
