Tribute Burger DIY Kit

Tribute Burger DIY Kit

Craft our legendary Tribute Burger at home with our simple, step-by-step recipe.

  1. PICKLES

To make our Honest Pickles visit our pickle recipe here. NOTE: This is a recipe for a large jar of pickles so you can keep them in the fridge for future burgers and salads.

  2. Get a heavy based frying pan on a high heat (don’t add oil, the burger’s got enough fat) and turn your grill to a medium heat — you might want to open some windows — as it’s going to get smoky.

  3. Cook 1 slice streaky bacon under the grill until crispy, then cut each rasher in half, (or two cut pieces) per burger.

  4. Add patties to frying pan, press down gently to get a good sear and season liberally with salt and pepper.
Cook patties to your preference — it’s hard to gauge exact timings as cooking equipment varies — but five and a half minutes on each side should give you a cooked through burger, you can always work back

  5. Once flipped, season liberally on the cooked side and add 2 slices of American cheese and 2 of the cut pieces of bacon to each patty, stick the top bun on top and carefully cover the pan with a lid or upturned metal bowl. It needs to fit well so the bun steams until its nice and squishy.

  6. After roughly 1 minute take off the lid and continue to cook the burgers to your liking. Once done, remove from the pan and leave to rest. Lightly toast the buns under the grill and thinly slice the red onion. Now you’re ready to start building your burgers.

Bermondsey Spritz

A spritz is a fantastic refreshing drink for the summer and this is the best one we’ve tried.
